A leading energy company in Germany is hiring a Chief Data Officer to build and lead their entire data function. This is a key executive role focused on developing the long-term data strategy while assembling a high-performing team to support it.
What you'll be doing:
Own the company-wide data strategy, reporting directly to senior leadership
Build and lead a team across data engineering, analytics, science, and governance
Define scalable processes for data quality, access, and reporting
Support core areas of the business including forecasting, operational planning, sustainability, and regulatory reporting
Act as a thought partner to product, tech, and operations leadership
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience building and leading data teams in fast-moving environments
Strong understanding of data infrastructure, governance, and commercial use cases
Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing at board level
Clear, practical leadership style — comfortable scaling teams, not just overseeing them
Experience in energy, infrastructure, or regulated environments is a strong plus
