We're looking for a Country Controller to join our team in Germany in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will maintain an effective accounting framework and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with local laws, regulations, US GAAP and corporate policies for Germany and Austria entities. You will collaborate with EPAM Global Shared Services Centre (SSC), Controllership Support teams and Finance leadership to optimise resource allocation and ensure timely completion of statutory and tax obligations. This position also involves monitoring legislative changes, driving process improvements and overseeing all EPAM legal entities in Germany and Austria.
Maintain an effective accounting and internal control framework to comply with local laws, regulations and internal policies Monitor local legislative environment and initiate policy changes to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations Review and analyse monthly results during each closing to ensure accuracy of reported trial balance Prepare periodic Stat-to-US GAAP reconciliations and GAAP-to-Tax bridges for deferred tax calculations Ensure timely completion of statutory audits and related filings Prepare or review periodic and annual tax filings and ensure timely submission to authorities Respond to tax authority inquiries and lead tax audits in coordination with EPAM tax teams Oversee payroll processes in coordination with the Global Payroll SSC team Monitor transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements liaising with the EPAM intercompany team as necessary Oversee integration of newly acquired entities and drive entity simplification efforts in the country Degree in business administration, accounting or equivalent Minimum 10 years of experience in a multinational company or audit services (Big 4 preferred) Minimum 5 years in a leadership role overseeing accounting and tax functions of a local subsidiary of a multinational company Excellent knowledge of HGB and IFRS/US GAAP accounting standards Fluency in both German and English languages Solid knowledge of tax and local regulations including transfer pricing frameworks Experience managing tax audits from a legal entity perspective Familiarity with shared services environments Strong understanding of collaboration within finance and across local/global teams Strong analytical and IT skills (preferably SAP, ERP, MS Office) Experience in entity integration and simplification projects Advanced knowledge of process improvement methodologies Local equivalent of a valid CMA/CPA qualification or qualification
