Group Head of Indirect Procurement
As a global leader in medical diagnostics, SYNLAB is committed to excellence in quality, innovation and sustainable value creation. To further strengthen our procurement organisation, we are looking for an experienced leader to strategically and operationally drive forward the global ‘Indirect Spend’ purchasing division. In this key role, you will actively shape the further development of our global category strategies, promote international cooperation and secure sustainable savings and performance potential in purchasing.
Responsibilities Global management of the ‘Indirect Spend’ category cluster and support for category managers in defining and implementing international product group strategies, taking local requirements into account
Disciplinary management and further development of several category managers and technical management of international sourcing managers
Responsibility for strategic and tactical procurement processes, target achievement and increasing the managed purchasing volume
Definition and monitoring of qualitative and quantitative targets per product group and development of measures in the event of target deviations
Close cooperation with the Head of Group Procurement in the development and implementation of the global purchasing strategy
Analysis and risk assessment within the categories in cooperation with the Category Managers and implementation of appropriate measures to minimise risk
Promotion of cross-functional cooperation, knowledge transfer and innovation initiatives for the further development of the global procurement network
Qualifications University degree in business administration, supply chain management, purchasing or a comparable field of study
10+ years of experience in strategic purchasing, particularly in category management and the management of global purchasing structures
Proven leadership and management skills in managing international teams and experience in employee development
Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills at all hierarchical levels
Strategic and analytical thinking with entrepreneurial vision and the ability to promote innovation and efficiency in purchasing
In-depth experience in cost optimisation, transformation and supplier development projects
Business fluent written and spoken English; other languages are an advantage, as is a very good knowledge of MS Office
