About this Position
As a Senior Project & Sustainability Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and executing strategic investment projects across the European region, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and sustainability in every phase. You will be responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects and act as a key contributor to Henkel’s sustainability agenda within the European Engineering Network.
What you´ll do
* Develop and implement European-wide sustainability concepts including energy, water, emission and resource efficiency strategies by analyzing current production processes and identify technical improvements opportunities.
* Lead and execute investment projects safely, on time, on budget, and in line with Henkel’s Project Management Framework
* Manage all technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects in the European region
* Drive all project phases — from feasibility and concept development to execution, commissioning, start-up, hand-over and project closure, including lessons learned
* Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks, resolving and escalating issues as appropriate
* Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and transparency
* Collaborate with internal experts and technology specialists to secure best-in-class technical solutions
* Facilitate ongoing best practice exchange between sites and the regional engineering group to strengthen sustainability knowledge and capabilities
What makes you a good fit
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry
* Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability engineering preferably in CAPEX investment projects within an industrial environment
* Strong experience in concept development, feasibility analyses, and implementing advanced sustainability technologies (renewables, heat recovery, electrification, circularity programs).
* Strong project management skills, including experience with relevant tools and methodologies
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Willingness to travel across Europe up to 50% of the time, depending on project assignments
