Senior Frontend Engineer – JavaScript SDK
I’m currently partnering with a fast-growing, privacy-focused European tech company that provides GDPR-compliant solutions to help digital publishers increase revenue. Their cross-publisher subscription model allows users to enjoy an ad- and tracking-free experience while supporting their favorite websites. With a network of over 500 publishers—including major names like Axel Springer, Burda, Hearst, and Prisa—the company is now scaling across additional international markets.
They’re looking to hire a Senior Frontend Engineer to take full ownership of their high-impact JavaScript SDK, which plays a critical role in delivering a seamless, privacy-first experience across billions of monthly page impressions.
The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to join a small, focused engineering team and take the lead on a core SDK used by hundreds of partner sites and seen by millions of users every day. The SDK integrates with various Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) and ensures compliance, performance, and a tracking-free experience across a wide range of web environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own: Take full technical ownership of a JavaScript SDK integrated across 500+ publisher sites.
* Integrate: Maintain and extend support for CMPs like Sourcepoint, Didomi, and Usercentrics, including creating wrappers and handling edge cases.
* Standardize: Help unify the CMP integration layer and contribute to potential open-sourcing efforts.
* Improve: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser quirks, and integration issues.
* Collaborate: Work closely with product, engineering, and external partners to roll out features and resolve real-world edge cases.
What They’re Looking For:
* Experience: 5+ years in frontend development, ideally working on SDKs or third-party browser integrations.
* Expertise: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, browser APIs, and modern Web standards.
* SDK Mentality: You’ve built or maintained libraries meant for use by other developers, and you understand the importance of documentation, public APIs, and robustness in unknown environments.
* Quality Focus: A deep appreciation for correctness, stability, and performance—especially in external integrations.
* Cross-Browser Knowledge: You're aware of how different environments behave and have strategies to ensure compatibility.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills (English), with the ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly.
* Mindset: Proactive, ownership-driven, and comfortable working in a lean, agile, and high-growth setting.
Nice-to-Haves:
* Familiarity with privacy regulation frameworks and CMPs (e.g., TCF, IAB).
* Contributions to open-source projects.
* Hands-on debugging experience across browsers and devices.
* Background in digital publishing, subscriptions, or ad tech.
What’s On Offer:
* High Impact: Your work will directly shape a product used by millions across Europe.
* Ownership & Autonomy: Lead a core piece of the technical platform with real decision-making power.
* Remote Flexibility: Work fully remotely from anywhere within CET ±2h.
* Learning: Work closely with a highly experienced founding team in a deep-tech privacy space.
* Culture: A mission-driven, collaborative team that values clarity, impact, and simplicity.
* Equity: Competitive salary plus equity options.
