Hauptaufgaben Performs the full range of first line supervisory planning duties. Plans the work to be done on a daily or weekly basis, depending on work orders received from the customers or higher levels in the organization. Ensures adequate tools, equipment, facilities, and materials are available and that workers with adequate skills are available to perform the work. Ensures that work is carried out in accordance with customary work methods and within priorities, schedules, deadlines and resources established and approved by higher level supervisors. Oversees the work to ensure timeliness and that work is progressing as planned; as required, brings situations requiring overtime or other adjustments to the supervisor's attention and recommends solutions. Recommends changes to schedules, priorities and work sequences as necessary to accomplish tasks. Applies the full range of flooring/carpentry skills and techniques in repairing, constructing, remodeling, and maintaining a variety of wooden structures in office buildings, warehouses, and storage areas, troop housing, and technical and shop structures. Uses a variety of hand and power tools in accomplishing assignments. Conduct on-site meetings with customers to assess project needs, evaluating flooring, painting, carpentry, and other facility improvements to define the technical scope of work required. Leverage expertise in materials, techniques, and industry standards to develop comprehensive project plans. Identify and coordinate suitable contractors for specialized work, obtaining competitive quotes while ensuring all technical specifications and requirements are met. Provide on-site technical oversight and guidance during project execution, acting as an escort when necessary to maintain security and facilitate efficient completion. Conduct thorough inspections upon project completion to verify adherence to quality and technical standards, addressing any deficiencies directly with contractors to ensure proper resolution. Assigns work to individual subordinates and ensures they understand and are able to carry out the work. Provides technical guidance and assistance to employees or through subordinate leaders when difficult tasks are encountered. Monitors and observes work to ensure proper methods, tools, equipment and facilities are used, and to ensure that work progresses to meet schedules. Checks completed work for quality and compliance with accepted trade practices. Keeps supervisors informed of problems with high visibility or sensitive assignments, such as delays that cannot be accommodated with adjusting workload. Assigns subordinates to teams according to workload, adjusting between teams and work assignments as necessary. Prepares performance plans and ratings as required for subordinates; advises of performance requirements and progress in meeting same. Counsels workers on how to improve performance; explains new techniques; provides on the job training as required. Recommends promotions, classroom training, disciplinary action. Handles initial complaints, referring to supervisor when unable to resolve. Assures that safety and housekeeping practices are observed. Approves short periods of leave and coordinates with higher levels on longer leave requests. Maintains work reports and records. Performs other duties as assigned.
