Our client is a global leader in high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions. We are seeking a highly organized Field Application Engineer – Power Electronics.
You will play a key role in developing and strengthening the technical relationship with inverter OEMs, module manufacturers, and power electronics customers across EMEA.
You will support customers from the first technical demonstration through to design-in, helping them understand, evaluate, and successfully integrate advanced sensing and power electronics solutions into their applications.
This is a highly hands-on and customer-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys combining deep technical expertise, lab work, and direct interaction with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and develop technical relationships with inverter OEMs, module manufacturers, and power electronics customers, from initial demo to design-in.
* Set up and manage a dedicated Power Electronics FAE Lab, including: integration of power modules and current sensors, busbar and system integration, magnetic field calculation and characterization, and validation of complete measurement chains
* Generate critical application data for customers, including: field vs. distance curves, crosstalk measurements, and thermal behavior analysis.
* Create application notes, integration guides, and reference designs that simplify complex technical systems for customer use.
* Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer events through live demonstrations and technical presentations.
* Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, translating their application needs into practical engineering solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Solid experience in power electronics, especially with IGBT and/or SiC modules.
* Strong understanding of: DBC technology and busbar design, switching losses and gate drivers, and reliability and lifetime considerations.
* Familiarity with motor control, current loop design, inverter topologies, and module architectures.
* Strong knowledge of current sensing technologies and their design implications.
* Hands-on lab experience using equipment such as oscilloscopes, current probes, thermal imaging tools, and prototyping setups.
* Confident in customer-facing technical discussions with engineering teams, including Tier-1 automotive suppliers, industrial drive companies, inverter OEMs, or module manufacturers.
* Fluent English skills; German is a strong plus.
Nice to Have
* Experience with ISO 26262 / ASIL and automotive development environments.
* Background working with module manufacturers, inverter OEMs, or Tier-1 suppliers.
* Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies, such as bare die handling or wire bonding.
* Experience supporting design-in processes for automotive or industrial power electronics applications.
Role Highlights
* Be the first Power Electronics FAE hire in EMEA, with the opportunity to shape the function from the ground up.
* Take ownership of setting up lab infrastructure, defining methodologies, and building technical best practices.
* Work in an entrepreneurial environment where initiative, technical curiosity, and hands-on problem-solving are highly valued.
* Collaborate closely with experienced engineers, technology partners, and leading research institutions.
* Contribute directly to the successful adoption of patented, cutting-edge technology in high-impact applications.
Key Competencies
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Strong hands-on mindset with a structured and methodical approach to testing and validation.
* Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Benefits
* A key position with direct exposure to business leadership and the opportunity to help build the Power Electronics FAE function in EMEA.
* The chance to work with patented, cutting-edge technology in the field of power electronics and sensing solutions.
* Exposure to high-profile customers, including inverter OEMs, module manufacturers, Tier-1 suppliers, and automotive players.
* Competitive compensation, flexible working hours, and home office options.
