Software Engineer (m/f/d) Linux Middleware

The global E/E infrastructure team is a key building block for AGCO's future strategy. As part of the team, you will work in a globally distributed, agile organization with experts from various AGCO locations to implement the concepts for the next generation of cross-machine E/E architecture. Together, we create solutions that enable new digital business models and smart farming solutions for a variety of machine platforms.
As a software developer for performance control units in our global E/E infrastructure team, you set the course for AGCO's automation and autonomy strategy. With this mission you specify, develop and test the basic software including middleware / application framework for the next generation of performance control units. You will work closely with the application teams, especially the team for Automation & Autonomous Operations.
What You Will Do
* Design, development and testing of a middleware for the automation of agricultural machinery
* Design, development and testing of basic software such as
o Communication stacks
o Linux kernel
o Board Support Package
o Low-level drivers
o Bootloader
* Working in an agile Scrum team “High Performance ECU & Networking”
* Application of automation techniques throughout the software lifecycle
What You Will Bring
* University degree in computer science, electrical engineering or comparable
* First professional experience as a software engineer or developer
* Software engineering knowledge and experience of best practices for the entire software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing and operations
* Good written and spoken English skills
A Plus If You Have
* Knowledge of Linux build environments (Yocto, Buildroot) and the Linux kernel
* Command of C/C++, CMAKE and other programming/scripting languages
* Experience with middleware / application frameworks (e.g. AUTOSAR Adaptive, Apex.OS, ROS2 or similar)
* Experience in the automotive & agricultural machinery sector
