About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking HSE Manager to lead Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at our Mannheim site.
This is a key leadership role where you will act as the subject matter expert for HSE, partnering with leadership and employees to drive a proactive safety culture and deliver best-in-class safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the site HSE strategy aligned with business and group objectives
* Act as the primary point of contact for all HSE-related matters (internal and external)
* Lead, coach, and support teams to ensure high HSE standards across the site
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Drive continuous improvement through incident investigation and root cause analysis
* Design and deliver effective HSE training and awareness programmes
* Manage contractor and subcontractor HSE compliance, including audits and onboarding
* Develop and track KPIs to measure and improve HSE performance
* Lead internal and external audits, inspections, and risk assessments
* Oversee industrial hygiene and workplace safety programmes
* Collaborate with HR on onboarding and continuous HSE training across the employee lifecycle
Skills and Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
* Certified Health & Safety qualification (minimum 2 years)
* Proven experience in HSE management within an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Strong knowledge of German HSE regulations (e.g. ArbSchG, DGUV, BetrSichV, GefStoffV)
* Experience with HSE management systems (e.g. OHSAS 18001, ISO standards, SCC)
* Fluent German (C1) and strong English communication skills
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
