We are looking for an Asset Optimization Manager – SCADA to join our Intraday Optimisation Continental department in Hamburg. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic SCADA team responsible for optimizing the dispatch of our renewable assets, in particular wind, solar and pump storage assets, batteries and conventional assets for district heating.
You’ll play a key role in the energy transition by helping us increase efficiency, adopt advanced analytics, and support the integration of decentralized energy systems.
What you'll do:
* Delivering real-time steering and control of Vattenfall assets in Germany, Netherlands and United Kingdom.
* Monitor and develop our algorithms in our SCADA system to ensure reliable and profitable operations of our Hydro, Wind and Solar assets, as well as the flexibility business – in particular batteries – for both power and ancillary services.
* Data analysis, monitor data flows and quality, supporting settlement and onboarding processes.
* Collaborate on the development of automation tools, algorithms, and IT systems in an international agile environment.
Qualifications
What you should bring:
* A university degree in engineering, natural sciences, meteorology or a comparable qualification.
* Ideally, at least one year of relevant work experience.
* Interest in energy markets and/or experience in power plant operations is a plus.
* Strong analytical mindset and a structured approach to problem-solving.
* Programming experience (e.g. Python) and a curiosity for data-driven decision-making.
* Proficiency in English. German or Dutch is a bonus.
