You should have strong Python skills, know how to manage Redis cache, AWS S3 or DBT, and bring experience in the German or European power market. You'll work in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment and collaborate closely with traders and developers to turn data into real trading decisions.
What You'll Do
1. Build and maintain models to forecast power demand, renewable generation, and prices in the German and Western European intraday markets
2. Develop robust data pipelines to collect, clean and combine internal and external data ( grid, weather, or market data)
3. Analyse market data and derive insights to optimise trading strategies
4. Help build tools for automated trading and market analytics
5. Contribute to models predicting local grid congestion and identifying flexibility opportunities
6. Collaborate closely with our Trading, Flexibility and Tech teams across Germany and the UK
7. Support the development of our forecasting and analytics frameworks across the business
What You'll Need
8. Excellent Python programming skills
9. Experience with time series data, forecasting, and machine learning ( Redis cache, AWS S3, Databricks, Grafana)
10. Exposure to the German or European electricity market ( EPEX Spot, Redispatch, TSOs)
11. Experience building data pipelines and automating data workflows
12. Ability to clearly communicate modelling approaches, including assumptions and limitations
13. A structured, quality-focused way of working and a desire to take ownership
14. Enthusiasm for accelerating the energy transition and optimising flexible power systems
15. Fluent German and English (both are required)
