We are now looking for a Head of Operations DACH to take ownership of our operational organization, drive efficiency, and ensure that our delivery meets the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
Overview
The Head of Operations DACH leads and optimizes operational activities across the DACH region, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of translation and interpretation services while managing resources, processes, and relationships with clients, freelancers, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Lead and manage the operations teams in DACH including Text Translation Project Managers, Customer Service / Booking Organization, and Interpreter Call Center.
* Service Delivery: Ensure high-quality and on-time delivery of translation and interpretation assignments.
* Talent Management: Secure and manage a strong pool of freelance and in-house linguists, interpreters, and project managers to meet client demand.
* Process & Efficiency: Optimize workflows, implement best practices, and drive operational excellence across translation and interpretation services.
* Quality & Compliance: Ensure delivery meets client requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
* Financial Responsibility: Manage cost efficiency and operational budgets, ensuring profitability of service delivery.
* Customer Focus: Collaborate closely with sales and account management to ensure seamless client experience and resolve operational issues quickly.
* Technology & Innovation: Work with internal tech/product teams to improve tools, automate processes, and leverage technology for scalability.
* Leadership & Development: Build, coach, and inspire high-performing teams in Customer Service and Project Management.
Requirements
* Proven experience (7+ years) in operations leadership within a service delivery or BPO environment, ideally in language services, customer service, or related industries.
* Strong understanding of translation and interpretation workflows is a clear advantage.
* Demonstrated success in leading multi-team operations (PMs, customer service, call center).
* Track record in driving cost efficiency while maintaining high service quality.
* Excellent people leadership and talent development skills.
* Data-driven and structured, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Fluent in German and English (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus.
* Based in the DACH region, with willingness to travel occasionally.
