Job Description
We are looking for a talented BIM Designer II at our office in Frankfurt, Germany. IPS Integrated Project Services is a global leader in EPMCV, solely specialized in Pharmaceutical/Biotech Engineering with offices on 4 continents and 3000+ professionals providing technical consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, construction management, and CGMP compliance services for technically complex development and manufacturing facilities worldwide.
The BIM Designer II works on various projects as assigned by the BIM Manager. This individual works with engineering and design staff made up of mechanical, electrical, building services, process engineers, project managers, designers, architects and other personnel to support and implement BIM applications for given projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Deliver projects using BIM applications, including Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
2. Develop mechanical, electrical, and plumbing Revit models while coordinating with all other disciplines.
3. Attend project meetings, contributing to coordination through model-based collaboration.
4. Run model review meetings, identifying clashes/areas of concern and assigning for resolution.
5. Coordinate design work with related engineering disciplines and external vendors.
6. Develop design concepts and prepare documentation from concept to construction stages.
7. Use CAD and BIM tools to produce sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
8. Correct, update, and enhance design documents based on project needs.
9. Develop and implement quality control procedures for BIM production.
10. Contribute to the creation and refinement of BIM standards and protocols.
11. Review drawings and models to ensure compliance with internal and client-specific design standards.
12. Provide technical support to engineers, architects, designers, and project managers.
13. Support the professional development of junior staff and contribute to performance reviews.
14. Collaborate with equipment suppliers and vendors to gather technical data for design integration.
15. Support the adoption of new digital tools and workflows to enhance design efficiency and accuracy.
16. Contribute to special projects as assigned, bringing BIM expertise to unique or strategic initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
17. Minimum of 5 years of previous design experience.
18. Competent with building services design requirements and coordination considerations.
19. An engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
20. Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
21. Proficient in the production of MEP models using Autodesk Revit.
22. Proficient in model federation and review using Autodesk Navisworks.
23. Proficient with cloud collaboration using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
24. Proficient with clash detection using Autodesk Navisworks or ACC Model Coordination.
25. Understanding of industry BIM standards and workflows (e.g. ISO19650, COBie, LOD)
26. Experience with Revit family creation, Dynamo, Autodesk Recap, Lumion beneficial.
27. Life Sciences Industry Experience advantageous.
