Position Summary
The Director of Sales in the pharmaceutical sector leads strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth and market share. Responsibilities include overseeing a sales team, managing client relationships, and implementing sales strategies to meet company objectives.
Responsibilities include:
* Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets and growth across Europe. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitors to inform planning and development. Drive both short-term and long-term sales strategies aligned with corporate goals.
* Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, lead, and mentor a regional sales team. Set sales targets, establish accountability, and provide coaching. Identify tools and processes to enhance productivity.
* Market Analysis and Business Intelligence: Collaborate across departments to inform portfolio decisions. Monitor industry developments and leverage data insights to refine strategies and adapt to industry trends.
* Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Lead negotiations, manage expectations, and identify new business opportunities.
* Internal Collaboration: Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities. Conduct market assessments to optimize strategy and work with sourcing teams to focus on key supplier relationships.
* Sales Performance Metrics: Define KPIs, generate sales reports, and refine processes for efficiency.
* Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all activities comply with industry standards and legal requirements. Work with legal teams to mitigate risks.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in setting and reviewing sales budgets and forecasts. Provide insights based on market and performance data.
Required Experience & Knowledge
Education: Bachelor's in Business Administration, Marketing, or related; Master's or MBA preferred.
Experience: 10+ years in pharmaceutical or B2B sales with proven leadership and revenue growth. Experience managing sales teams, preferably in CDMO space.
Skills: Deep industry knowledge, leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, negotiation skills, project management, and knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations.

Reports to: VP Global Pharma Sales
Direct reports: Pharma Sales Team
