Hauptaufgaben Serves as Quality Assurance Specialist collocated in a project/program manager organization responsible for product quality for complex repair programs and new products not performing to standards. Incumbent is responsible for managing, directing and evaluating of quality discrepancies and includes efforts by numerous contractors and other Government agencies. Reviews and approves a variety of product assurance and test plans, programs and procedures developed by supporting Government activities and contractors; directs and/or accomplishes the necessary revisions on deployment peculiarities to assure adequate coverage of product assurance. Reviews and monitors, on a demanding basis, contractors' activities for the purpose of identifying existing problems, potential problems, corrective action necessary and impact of contractor deficiencies on product assurance activities and system integrity. Plans and develops or directs development of procedures, criteria, and techniques including special requirements associated with unique and complex items of systems. Surveys technical, scientific, and quality publications and literature to keep abreast of technological advances and developments and for possible adoption and/or application in assigned weapon system. Performs on site product quality inspections for complex systems for all level of maintenance in conjunction with customer complaints. Reviews the technical literature pertaining to the subject Item / System to maintain and improve the high grade of expertise for this commodity. Acts as the final authority in technical and / or service disagreements between parties. Reviews plans and procurement packages to ensure that acquisitions are in accordance with applicable regulations and policy; determines the most economical and efficient method of procurement and best type of contract.
