The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises seven non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes belong to the Leibniz Association.

Research Assistant (f/m/d)

The position is intended to be filled by April 1, 2026.
The tasks of the position include:
* Collaborating with fellow team members on joint research projects and contributing to the publication of high-quality articles in leading statistics journals.
* Actively engaging with the broader Berlin mathematical statistics community by participating in collaborative initiatives, seminars, and networking activities.
* Presenting research findings at internal seminars as well as at national and international conferences.
We are looking for:
A postdoctoral researcher in the field of mathematical statistics, with a focus on nonparametric statistics, nonparametric Bayesian methods, and the mathematical foundations of machine learning. Candidates are expected to have a strong research profile in these areas and to be willing to contribute actively to our scientific collaborations and publication activities.
