The position is part of the project "ViFaPi: Image Analysis in historic prints and herbaria" and is a cooperation with the TU Braunschweig and the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel. The ViFaPi project is funded by the MWK Niedersachsen within the program PRONiedersachsen – Kulturelles Erbe - Sammlungen und Objekte*.

Your tasks:
Collaboration in the above-mentioned project, which is carried out on at the university with the following focal points
* Development and adaptation of machine learning methods for image recognition in historic publications
* Evaluation of datasets
* Cooperation with domain experts on historic publications
* Academic writing of publications
Your profile:
* University degree in Information Science or in a degree program with comparable content
* Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team
* Knowledge in these areas:
* Image analysis
* machine learning (especially Deep Learning)
* Use of Python Tools and Multimodal models or language models
Preferred:
* Doctoral degree
