Job Description
To support the development and quality assurance of common sourced own brand food products for METRO Cash & Carry International and provide general product support for the countries.
Your Tasks:
 * Development of products and their specifications in cooperation with suppliers, Common Sourcing team and Own Brand team
 * Organize monitoring systems (e.g. laboratory, including sensory, testing and assessing the results)
 * Risk assessment of products and suppliers, including HACCP
 * Review and approve label information in Common Sourced articles
 * Aligning with PC&G team the organization of sensory assessments
 * Inspect suppliers
 * First point of contact for suppliers and country quality colleagues
 * Work with countries and suppliers to establish and implement quality standards
 * Maintain data on supplier certification, inspections, product specifications and analysis results
 * Manage complaints and incidents.
 * Advising Procurement on Quality-related issues
 * Provide training for countries
 * Work with sustainability, colleagues to ensure the Sustainability policies implementation
 * Monitor and maintain the quality management system
 * Regularly review and maintain the QA documents e.g.: GQA standards, procedures, technical manuals etc 
 * Ensuring that METRO branded products comply with quality, legal and safety requirements and identify quality risks
 * In case of quality deviations, evaluate incidents and execute corrective actions
 * Striving to continuously improve METRO QA processes and overall performance.
Qualifications
 * University degree in food chemistry, food technology, or similar food related degrees.
 * Excellent English communication and Project management skills, good presentation skills - develop and present PowerPoint presentations to senior management.
 * Experience 5 years+ in front line retailing / wholesaling and/or product quality management
 * Knowledge of the international Own Brand trade.
 * Good knowledge of HACCP, national and European Food law, supplier certification, standards and crisis management.
 * Experience in Food Analysis and Sensory analysis
 * Experience in quality management and standards
 * Experience in the collaboration with external laboratories
 * Experienced in risk management.
 * Work in cross functional teams.
 * Ability to work with data and statistics.
