Scope
We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist specialising in Single-Cell RNA, TCR data analysis, and experience in deep learning, structural biology, and immunology. This role will be a key contributor alongside a team of talented computational biologists and experimental scientists in the Oncology Translational Research Department. The Scientist will be responsible for combining single-cell TCR sequencing analysis with advanced machine learning approaches to predict TCR:peptide-MHC interactions, characterise tumor-reactive T cell repertoires, and develop predictive biomarkers for therapy response in precision immunotherapy programs.
1. Lead comprehensive analysis of single-cell RNA-seq with paired TCR sequencing including clonotype identification, repertoire diversity, and integration with transcriptional phenotypes; building and maintaining pipelines in Python.
2. Work with deep learning architectures (transformers, graph neural networks, CNNs) for TCR:pMHC interaction prediction using sequence and structural features.
3. Collaborate closely with the Oncology Translational Research team members, immunologists, and AI/ML engineers to translate TCR insights into clinical biomarkers.
4. Develop predictive biomarker signatures correlating TCR features with clinical outcomes and support companion diagnostic development.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
5. PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, or related field.
6. Extensive experience in single-cell RNA-seq and TCR sequencing analysis (Seurat, Scanpy, scRepertoire, Scirpy).
7. Proficiency in Python with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
8. Strong statistical and machine learning skills including experience with transformer models and neural networks.
9. Ability to communicate with team members from different backgrounds, as well as senior members of the research units.
10. Ability to deliver high quality, consistent results in a timely fashion with a positive can-do and result-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred; if you do not have them, please still apply:
11. 2+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience in single-cell TCR analysis and machine learning applications in biology.
12. Experience with structural biology tools (AlphaFold, molecular dynamics) and TCR:pMHC interaction prediction.
13. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of publications and/or patents in relevant fields.
