We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Design Engineer for Liquid Rocket Engine (m/f/d). Your mission Maintain and manage the master CAD model of the rocket engine, including configuration control and subsystem integration Design engine components and produce detailed technical drawings Perform thermo-mechanical simulations (thermal/structural FE analyses) and iterate designs based on results Ensure manufacturability, tolerance accuracy, and material suitability Coordinate with analysis, test, and integration teams to incorporate design updates Communicate with suppliers regarding manufacturability, materials, design requirements and review supplier drawings Maintain BOMs and support procurement and assembly Document design changes through the engineering change process Your profile Degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc.) or similar Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience Advanced skills in CAD modelling Advanced skills in thermomechanical/FEA simulation Good understanding of the rocket engine design process and its subsystems Profound understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, rocket engine/propulsion systems Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, and team-working skills Proficiency in both German and English Knowledge of PTC Creo is an advantage Experience with qualification/certification Work experience in a start-up environmen Join us in shaping the future of space transportation and making a positive impact. Based on more than 30 years of German and European spaceplane research, the development of the spaceplane AURORA began at the German Aerospace Center DLR. Aurora combines aircraft and rocket launcher technologies with a unique vehicle design, and offers a game-changing economic viability as well as opening the door for routine low-cost and safe access to space. In order to validate the technology and accelerate the spaceplane development, POLARIS has been developing a series of scaled flight demonstrators.
