Job Role: Senior AI Engineer
Location: Cologne, Germany | SaaS Product
We're currently looking to hire a Senior AI Engineer to join one of our clients in Cologne, where you will play a key role in building the next generation of capabilities within an AI-powered SaaS platform.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong machine learning engineering expertise with a practical mindset for delivering production-grade AI systems. You will work on designing and implementing agentic AI architectures, integrating advanced language models, and developing scalable solutions that power real-world business workflows.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven features within our SaaS platform
* Build and implement agentic AI systems capable of planning, reasoning, and interacting with external tools and services
* Integrate large language models (LLMs) and supporting architectures into production environments
* Develop robust pipelines for model orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and improvement
* Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions
* Ensure high standards of performance, reliability, and maintainability in AI systems
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, machine learning, or applied AI development
* Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML/AI frameworks
* Experience working with large language models, generative AI systems, or AI agents
* Experience deploying AI systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
* Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and system design
* Experience building and maintaining production-grade AI or SaaS products
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with agentic AI frameworks or multi-agent systems
* Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures
* Experience with LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, and tool integration
