ABOUT YOU We are looking for a motivated professional to join our Life Support Section as a Technician (Life Support). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and inspecting E-3A survival and life support equipment, managing HAZMAT documentation, ensuring safety and airworthiness compliance, and providing training and technical guidance to air and ground crews while supporting section operations and mentoring personnel. Your work will directly impact flight safety of E-3A aircraft and multiple aircrew members. You will be responsible for consistently ensuring that all safety regulations and technical requirements are fully met. YOUR ROLE In particular, you will be responsible for: Tracking, maintaining and updating Hazardous Materials Handling (HAZMAT) binder in coordination with base environmental division (SOC); Repairing, replacing and inspecting E-3A survival/life support equipment and aircrew NBC gear; Conducting of state-of-the-art survival equipment training for air and ground crews and acting therefore as POC to Operation Wing; Ensuring compliance with work safety regulations, observance of technical publications and airworthiness requirements; Providing technical information on assigned equipment and recommending methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures, AFTO 22 and suggestion programs; Assisting the section chief in managing the Section; Producing training materials, including lesson plans, presentations and tests; As functional area subject matter expert (SME) supporting other LW training courses as directed; Conducting OJT and advises newly assigned personnel; Ensuring continuously improvement of equipment standards and maintenance procedures; Operating computer terminals; Operating motor vehicles; Advising and assisting supervisors on difficult technical matters. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Very good knowledge of aircraft survival equipment/life support maintenance (focus\: survival equipment); Good knowledge of developing and conducting effective (technical) training coupled with at least 3 years of related professional experience; Secondary education and vocational training in survival equipment maintenance or a related field or secondary education and basic training for specific related skills, with 2 years experience; The work both oral and written, in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole, is conducted mainly in English therefore sufficient English proficiency is essential; Adequate knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP) is required. Desirable: Previous NATO assignment; Experience working in an international / military environment; Experience in NATO or other military or government organization working in the field of life support equipment maintenance and aircraft logistics support. Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, environmental regulations, and workplace safety requirements. YOUR SKILLS Technical ability to maintain and service equipment according to established standards; Capacity to analyse technical issues and identify effective maintenance or operational solutions; Safety and compliance awareness with strong attention to detail; Ability to clearly convey technical information and effectively train personnel; Ability to work effectively within a team and support colleagues to achieve operational goals; Ability to anticipate needs, identify improvements, and take initiative in tasks and problem-solving. YOUR TEAM The Logistics Wing (LW) is responsible for the safe and effective maintenance of the NE-3A fleet conducted at the MOB/FOBs/L and other deployed locations to sustain delivery of the E-3A Component operational output. The Maintenance Production Squadron is responsible for the management of all short-term maintenance activities and executes all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance. The General Aircraft Maintenance Branch performs periodic phase/isochronal inspections, including all related functional checks of aircraft systems and aircraft structures at the main operating base (MOB). The Life Support Section is responsible for the inspection, repair and replacement of E-3A life support and survival equipment. Delivers life support training for operations. CONTRACT Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered. SALARY/BENEFITS Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on NATO`S Single Salary Spine scale; The salary is tax free including (where eligible) expatriation, family and children's allowances and additional privileges for expatriate staff; Education allowance for children (where appropriate) and an excellent private health insurance scheme; Generous annual leave and home leave (if eligible); Retirement Pension Plan.
