Professorship Profile
This tenured position includes the Directorship of the well-equipped Institute of Biochemistry I, offering generous lab and office space, flexible long-term funding by the faculty, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities on a dynamic research and clinical campus. In collaboration with the partner institute Biochemistry II (PROXIDRUGS; at the Gustav-Embden-Center of Biochemistry, the professorship is responsible for teaching and examining preclinical medical and dental students in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as students in the international master’s program in Molecular Medicine.
Your Profile
We are looking for an internationally recognized Biochemist with a proven record of research excellence in one or more of Goethe University’s key profile areas: Science for Health (Cardiology, Oncology, Neuroscience, Drug Research) with the Cluster of Excellence Cardio-Pulmonary Institute (CPI; and Structure & Dynamics of Life with the Cluster of Excellence Subcellular Architecture of Life (SCALE; Candidates should demonstrate substantial third-party funding, a highly competitive publication record, successful leadership and mentorship experience, and documented expertise in teaching and examining Biochemistry curricula. The Candidate must hold a doctorate in Biochemistry or a related field and have completed additional academic qualifications, such as a habilitation or equivalent.

Among other things, this includes proof of aptitude for academic work (e.g., a doctorate), additional academic achievements (e.g., habilitation or equivalent), and the subject-specific requirements listed under "Your profile" that are necessary for fulfilling the duties of the professorship.
