Head of Land Acquisition - PV & BESS - Hannover - Hybrid
The Company
An established, fast-growing renewable energy developer with a strong foothold in Germany’s solar and storage market. Backed by long-term investment and a strong development pipeline of around 2GW of clean energy projects, including 400MW already at advanced RTB status. They specialise in delivering large-scale, community-supported solar and battery storage assets.
This is an exciting time for the company, with recent investment from a renewables fund, they are looking to secure 10 new hires this year across 3 offices in Germany.
The Role
* Lead the German Land Acquisition Team with hands on responsibilities as well as defining the strategy for the business unit.
* Identify, evaluate, and secure suitable land opportunities in line with the project pipeline and investment criteria for solar PV and BESS development.
* Build and maintain a strong pipeline of land prospects through direct sourcing, brokers, landowners, and local stakeholders.
* Negotiate and secure land agreements (options, leases, and purchase agreements) ensuring commercial viability and long-term project delivery potential.
* Manage and develop relationships with landowners, local communities, municipalities, and key external partners to support successful project origination.
* Work closely with development, grid, planning, and legal teams to ensure smooth coordination and progression of projects through the development lifecycle.
Profile
* A degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Renewable Energy or a related field.
* 5+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in renewable energy Land Acquisition (Solar PV strongly preferred).
* Strong understanding of land agreements, including options, leases, and purchase contracts, ideally within utility-scale energy projects
* Demonstrable track record of securing and progressing land opportunities through to development stage
* Confident negotiator with the ability to engage effectively with landowners, brokers, public stakeholders, and local authorities
