Position Summary:
The Director, Head of Commercial Operations & Marketing is a member of Crinetics Germany’s core Leadership Team, working closely together with colleagues in European and Global functions. The Director will be directly responsible for leading the launch and commercialization of Paltusotine in acromegaly. This is a pre-commercialization position, creating an opportunity to build and structure the Sales and Marketing team from scratch while aligning to the goals of the German affiliate. This includes also the development of a fully integrated commercial strategy and effectively managing the evolution from pre-marketing to launch whilst leading the commercial sales and marketing organization as well as achieving the sales targets for the respective countries. This will require, amongst other things, strong strategic skills with a practical knowledge of taking insights through to strategy and implementation.
Managing the first commercial launch for Crinetics in Germany will furthermore require strong leadership and strong commercial acumen. It will need a competitive mindset anchoring on an exceptional customer experience.
The role will collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, and global/regional Commercial, to successfully prepare the go-to-market strategy / launch for Paltusotine and evaluate future pipeline opportunities. Primary geographical responsibility is Germany but additional focus on other geographies primarily the remaining DACH region and potentially other markets will be considered in the mid- to long-term as Crinetics Pharmaceuticals establishes and expands its presence in Europe.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

* Define, drive and execute Crinetics Germany’s launch strategies in line with local market requirements
* Responsible for achieving the sales and profit targets for Germany
* Build, hire, train, manage and coach a best in class, high performance commercial team (including the sales team in Germany) that adheres to Crinetics values, integrity and diversity
* Provide personal leadership to inspire and motivate the marketing and sales teams to continuously strive for excellence.
* Responsible for adapting global marketing strategies and marketing materials to meet the German market requirements
* In partnership with the in country cross functional teams and European functions prepare for a best in class launch ensuring accountability to all elements of the plan and executed in a manner that aligns to the European strategic direction
* Develop and deploy cross functional strategies to achieve business goals, maintain/improve sales, profit and market share consistent with goals of the affiliate and the long-term strategic plans of the company
* Bring innovation and entrepreneurial thinking to build novel approaches to bringing this treatment to market whilst creating an exceptional customer experience
* Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with customers in the therapeutic area to support commercial activities in alignment with compliance guidelines
* Additional responsibilities will include collaborating with multiple cross functional partners to ensure the commercial strategy and brand uptake in the short, mid and long term are understood and aligned to
Education and Experience:
Required:
* Undergraduate degree in business or science or related discipline required. An advanced degree (MD or MBA) is preferred
* A seasoned and well-rounded executive with at least 10 years of demonstrated success in a variety of marketing and sales roles at a affiliate/country level of progressively greater scope and responsibility. Plus a minimum of 8 years in a supervisory/leadership role
* Experience in complementary commercial roles (e.g. sales, market access, business insights etc.)
* Experience building and leading teams in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
* Experience in endocrinology is preferred
* Deep understanding of building strategy that can be taken through to execution and knowledge of how to appropriately track the impact of a given strategy in the market
* Track record of field force management and proven ability to create and lead a country selling organization capable for achieving the country sales forecasts
* Proven ability in collecting and deciphering key trends and insights to uncover areas of opportunity or barriers and creating a plan to address the opportunity or issue
* Ability to think beyond a typical route of action with experience in bringing innovative approaches to the business
* High degree of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality
* Superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with different levels of management
* Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
* Highly organized, results driven, problem solver
* Highly motivated with the ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment
* Demonstrated reputation as a well-respected, dynamic team player
