As a Service Engineer, you will work on advanced medical devices and proton therapy systems, supporting clinical operations and ensuring optimal performance of cutting-edge technology.
Based on-site in Groningen, Netherlands, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous improvement of complex systems such as cyclotrons, beamlines, and patient positioning systems.
Key responsibilities
As a Service Engineer, you will:
1. Ensure the proper operation of proton therapy systems and medical equipment to support patient treatments and clinical activities
2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electromechanical and electronic systems
3. Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving electrical, mechanical, electronic, and software components
4. Contribute to software testing, validation, and new developments
5. Execute system upgrades and improvements in collaboration with R&D teams
6. Maintain and service electromechanical equipment according to maintenance schedules
7. Test systems and equipment according to technical specifications
8. Communicate system status clearly to customers and internal stakeholders
9. Support daily operations alongside clinical staff, as defined by the Site Manager
10. Document maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance using appropriate tools
Your profile
11. Degree in Engineering (Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Software Engineer, or similar) or relevant technical experience in field service, maintenance, or troubleshooting
12. Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skills
13. Experience with complex systems, industrial equipment, or medical devices is a strong plus
14. Knowledge or interest in software, coding, or system interfaces
15. Willing to work rotating shifts during the week (between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM) daytime shifts on weekends (average one in three weekends, with time off during the week)
16. Strong command of English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus
