Your Job:
1. Development, preparation, and characterization of state-of-the-art and novel catalysts for polymer recycling towards hydrogen carrier molecules
2. Characterization of polymer thin films on model surfaces
3. In situ and operando (surface) X-ray scattering studies of catalyst/polymer interfaces
4. Design, optimization, and testing/benchmarking of reactors for in situ and operando studies
5. Unravelling of relationships between catalyst surface structure and morphology with its performance (reactivity, selectivity, efficiency)
6. Coordination and execution of synchrotron beamtimes
7. Collaboration with other research groups, in particular at INW
8. Business trips to synchrotron facilities
9. Participation in international conferences (including presenting your research results)
10. Preparation of scientific publications and project reports
11. Supervision of Bachelor and Master students
12. Support in establishing the institute
Your Profile:
13. Master`s degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
14. Experience with surface X-ray scattering methods
15. Experience using synchrotron radiation facilities
16. Experience in catalysis and recycling
17. Knowledge of interfaces science
18. Knowledge in the field of energy storage
19. Experience with programming languages (ideally Python)
20. Fluent in written and spoken English
21. Very independent and self-motivated way of working but also excellent teamwork skills
22. High motivation to take on responsibility and to contribute to the development of research ideas
23. Willingness for regular business trips
