Position Overview
Morgan Latif has been exclusively retained by a global market leader in the chemical industry to appoint a Regional EHS Manager for its largest global facility based in Cologne, Germany, with additional regional oversight of operations in the wider DACH region.
The Regional EHS Manager will spearhead the modernisation, cultural transformation, and strategic repositioning of the EHS organisation across Germany and the wider DACH region. This is a rare opportunity to reshape safety leadership within a complex, process-intensive environment undergoing significant change.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the transformation and modernisation of the EHS function at the organisation’s largest global site, embedding Safety principles and rebuilding trust across the plant.
* Drive a cultural shift toward proactive, visible, and learning-focused safety leadership, while supporting the transition of day-to-day safety ownership to operations.
* Rebuild and upskill the regional EHS&S team by assessing competencies, certification needs, and future resource requirements.
* Ensure statutory compliance across emissions, water, waste, hazardous goods, environmental reporting, and related regulatory obligations.
* Influence senior plant leadership, challenge legacy behaviours, and strengthen engagement with frontline employees.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; additional EHS&S certifications highly desirable.
* Proven leadership experience driving cultural and behavioural safety transformation within complex, industrial, or process-oriented environments—preferably in chemicals, minerals, metals, or related sectors.
* Strong influencing capability, resilience, and confidence to challenge established norms and address pushback constructively.
* Deep understanding of environmental compliance requirements including emissions, waste and water management, hazardous goods etc.
* Experience working within matrixed reporting environments and leading teams during periods of organisational change.
* Demonstrated success in developing team capability, expanding certification breadth, and eliminating single points of failure.
* Fluent in German and English
