About the Role
Location Germany Sachsen Goerlitz Remote vs. Office Hybrid (Remote/Office) Company Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG Organization Transformation of Industry Business Unit Industrial Steam Turbines & Generators Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As a Development Engineer (f/m/d) in Operations, you will independently manage complex requirements for the flexible operation of turbines, as well as collaborate with direct colleagues and coordinate with project management and adjacent departments. You will identify and define new operational methods or improve existing ones setting the standard for performance and operation. In this process, you will document the approaches you create and describe and maintain the standard definitions in internal guidelines. You will present the results to internal customers and use your expertise to support and evaluate inquiries related to offers and orders. How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Definition of current and future standards for industrial steam and fluid turbines in an international setup in the context of the energy transition
2. Understanding the dynamic thermo-mechanical interactions at both the system level and component level, ensuring the mechanical integrity of turbine components
3. Designing cross-project solutions to ensure flexible turbine operation through control and regulation technology
4. Conducting analytical and numerical assessments according to relevant internal guidelines and internationally applicable standards and regulations (, FKM, ASME, DNV)
5. Supporting internal customer inquiries within turbine operation and performance and assisting in clarifying operational disturbances and assessing deviations
6. Defining, creating, and reviewing internal guidelines as well as calculation reports and communicating the outcome to internal partners
What You Bring
7. Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, preferably with a focus on technical/applied mechanics, energy technology, or a comparable field
8. Several years of shown experience in the field of thermodynamics and structural mechanics/finite element analysis
9. Expertise in solid mechanics and dynamics, turbomachinery, as well as knowledge of the thermodynamic design of steam turbines
10. Knowledge of various problem analysis methods, expertise in using finite element software and evaluating calculation results
11. Excelling in collaboration, communication, goal-orientation, consistency and analytical skills, as well as creativity
