Position Description

The Head of Regional Commercial Excellence leads our efforts in the delivery of commercial training, sales coordination, contract management, SFDC, customer experience and tender support for the assigned region. This role is crucial for supporting our regional sales leadership, and enhancing our sales team's effectiveness, ensuring compliance with contract and tender requirements compliance, and driving overall commercial performance.
Key responsibilities:
Commercial Training

- Collaborate with the Head of Commercial Training in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs for the sales team to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement skills.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training needs and support tailored content that addresses specific challenges.

- Responsible for the regional commercial training plan & for monitoring and evaluating training effectiveness through assessments and feedback to continuously improve program quality.

Sales Coordination

- Serve as the primary liaison between sales teams in the region and other departments to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency.

- Collaborate with the head of sales enablement and facilitate the development of sales strategies and action plans, aligning with overall business objectives, and ensuring efficient support and empowerment of sales teams.

- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improvements.

Contract Management

- Manage the lifecycle of contracts from quote to execution, ensuring customer compliance to contract for the assigned region.

- Collaborate with head of sales enablement, legal, finance, sales leadership to resolve contract related issues

- Monitor contract coverage, enforceability, commercial compliance and drive the actions required to improve performance.

Customer Experience

- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer experience throughout the commercial touchpoints.

- Collaborate with the head of customer experience, sales leadership and other functions to align and drive improvement activities suggested by the Net Promoter Score data.

SFDC

- Support commercial leadership with Sales Force Effectiveness and instrument placement performance.

- Recommends, aligns and drives improvement actions to enhance commercial performance.

Tender Support

- Oversee the preparation and submission of tender documents, ensuring compliance with requirements and deadlines.

- Collaborate with legal, finance, sales and product teams to gather necessary information and support materials for tender submissions.

- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and competitor activities to enhance tender strategies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial roles, with a focus on training, sales coordination, and tender management.

- Proven track record of leading successful training initiatives and driving sales performance.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data to inform decision-making.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.

- Availability and willingness to travel internationally (Germany, Poland, Philippines) around 10-15%. If not based in the Hilden, Germany office there will be an expectation to spend significant time here for the first 6 months (around 50%).
Skills and Competencies

- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

- Proficiency in SFDC systems.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Strong leadership qualities and a passion for developing talent.

- Change management skills to drive adoption of new processes across teams.
