Senior Cost Manager – Munich
Excellent opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to join a general contractor delivering fit-out and construction projects across Germany. This role offers autonomy and responsibility for the full commercial lifecycle of multiple projects.

Role Overview
The Senior Cost Manager will take ownership of one or more projects, depending on size and complexity. The role requires managing the full commercial lifecycle, from responding to client RFQs and presenting proposals, through tender processes, to providing ongoing commercial and contractual support throughout project execution. This position offers high autonomy and the potential to mentor junior cost managers as the team expands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Own and manage the commercial performance of projects, ensuring budgets, costs, and profitability targets are achieved.
2. Respond to client RFQs, prepare proposals, and oversee tender submissions.
3. Translate client requirements into the General Contractor’s scope of work, ensuring alignment with design intent and local construction standards.
4. Monitor project costs, optimize budgets, and support contract administration and negotiations.
5. Provide ongoing commercial and contractual support throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Interface with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors to ensure commercial clarity and smooth project delivery.
7. Support project risk management from a commercial perspective.
8. Mentor and guide junior cost managers as the team grows.
Candidate Profile
9. Proven experience with a General Contractor in Germany, ideally with an international GC background.
10. Strong understanding of client requirements and the ability to translate these into GC scope, cost structures, and project delivery.
11. Experience in budget management, cost optimization, and commercial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
12. Knowledge of fit-out and shell construction projects, with understanding of RIBA, BoQs, or equivalent international processes is an advantage.
13. Ability to work independently, make commercial decisions, and operate autonomously with minimal supervision.
14. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working directly with clients, contractors, and design teams.
15. Fluent in German and English (C1 minimum), both written and spoken.
16. Willingness to travel nationwide to project sites as required.
