As a Business Development Representative (BDR) focused on the UK & Northern Europe market, you will be on the front lines of our sales efforts, engaging prospective customers and helping to expand Applause’s footprint in the region. This is an exciting opportunity to build relationships with senior decision-makers at some of the world’s leading digital brands while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Generate outbound qualified opportunities for the sales team through proactive prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other possible channels
2. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly goals for meetings booked and opportunities generated
3. Understand and diagnose a prospect’s business challenges, positioning Applause’s value proposition with clarity and relevance
4. Research target accounts and industries to identify key stakeholders and develop account-based prospecting plans
5. Proactively manage and overcome prospect objections by clearly articulating Applause’s value, differentiators, and relevance to the customer’s challenges
6. Respond to inbound interest and qualify leads before routing them to the appropriate Account Executive
7. Collaborate with Marketing to support local demand generation campaigns and event follow-up
8. Maintain accurate pipeline data and activity logs in Salesforce and other sales tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft, Lusha)
Job Requirements and Preferred Skills:
9. Native-level fluency in English (written and spoken)
10. A strong desire to build a long-term career in sales, with a commitment to learning, growing, and succeeding as a BDR as the first step on that path
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills—confident making cold calls and engaging executives
12. Strong research, organizational, and time management skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities
13. Self-starter with a growth mindset—driven, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
14. Based in or willing to work from our Berlin office (hybrid model available)
15. Bonus: Experience selling SaaS, digital solutions, or subscription services
