WHAT YOU’LL DO The AVI-SPL Audio Visual Technician will provide on-site AV support and maintenance a t a designated customer location, working in close partnership with the customer, AVI-SPL management, Global Helpdesk, and the wider regional support team. While part of a distributed team, the technician will operate independently and must be proactive, self-starting, and committed to delivering a world-class customer service experience. This person will be a technician in the wider regional customer team based at a designated customer site. They will be responsible for providing a senior level of audio-visual proficiency, technical knowledge and operational expertise. Based in the Multimedia department they will be responsible for operating a range of equipment which would include cameras, audio, video, webcasting, video conferencing and related live event production equipment. In addition, the AV Technician will also have the general responsibility of preventative maintenance and initial break-fix of all Audio Visual and integrated conference room components and equipment. The AV Technician will work in true partnership with Business units, Marketing and Event Production teams, to ensure the overall event goals and objectives are delivered to the most exacting standard and are repeatable, sustainable and all events meet or exceed the level the industry would expect from a world class technician. Day-To-Day Responsibilities: Operate, analyze, troubleshoot, and manage AV systems and peripherals. Perform daily ready for business checks Expedited reporting of non-multimedia system outages discovered, for example house lighting or room temperature related issues Lead pre-meeting AV checks for events and meetings Assist with the scheduling of AV support for events and virtual meetings. Ability to troubleshoot AV components. Expert in audio-visual signal flow troubleshooting. Ability to coordinate external vendor support when required. Complete familiarity with, and adherence to, standard business practices and procedures. Strong understanding of Crestron & Cisco AV endpoints. Familiarity with Zoom Meeting & Webinar video conferencing platforms. Significant live event production and support experience. Assist with day-to-day operations, delegate tasks, and set deadlines. Exemplary communication and follow-up skills. Responsible for identifying defective or failed equipment and take ownership to resolution Work with Customer support departments, AVI-SPL Global Helpdesk, AVI-SPL support teams and AVI-SPL Account Team to provide proper resolution options. Support regional teams and remote engineers complete troubleshooting for the Frankfurt office. Performs other Audio-Visual related tasks as directed by the Customer Perform preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain customer spaces including but not limited to: testing/repairing cables, testing/repairing various hardware components Adhere to and understand local safety standards for all site duties, eg Manual Handling, Working at Height, Health and Safety training. Ability to use hand tools in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control.
