Gallagher is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their German office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team delivering a diverse range of initiatives supporting key organisational priorities including those relating to organic growth, acquisition & integration, operational improvement, risk and compliance.The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing, designing, and implementing process improvements within the operations department to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery and adherence to regulatory requirements.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of process optimization in a broking environment.

The successful candidate will be given the breadth and autonomy to take responsibility for supporting assigned initiatives and owning all business analysis and testing activities. They will be challenged by the diversity of the business units across Europe in a growing broking business.

They will have the opportunity to build an effective network to help them deliver, including working with stakeholders up to C-suite level. The initial focus will be on projects around standardisation of operational procedures across the different geographies in Europe.

You will report directly to the COO Europe and work closely with the European and Country Leadership Teams, as well as the GGB UK & EMEA Enterprise Solutions. These cover those functions that provide key services, support and expertise to the GGB UK Trading Divisions (Retail, Specialty, Reinsurance and Pen Underwriting (MGA) and Europe & India. These functions include Legal, HR, Marketing & Communications, Risk & Compliance, Data Privacy, Finance, Partner Assurance and Carrier Management.

The location io open to Frankfurt am Main, Cologne or Munich.

Worauf Sie Einfluss haben werden

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will conduct analysis that help to develop solutions for projects and to introduce any changes to processes and systems ensuring that can be embedded into our business in a controlled way.

We will count on you to:

- Understand the business problem and primary objectives of new projects, challenging and validating the key business objectives and scope
- Identify key stakeholders and working with them, use a variety of techniques and methodologies to elicit and validate requirements
- Create functional requirements within use cases, coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of processes, analyses, and recommendations for reference and compliance purposes
- Document functional and non-functional requirements in a manner that supports the efficient translation of these into solution / technical requirements by the Technology team
- Document and analyse as-is processes, identifying and communicating recommendations for improvement
- Through feedback and alignment with business requirements and target operating models, design, validate and document efficient to-be business processes, understanding potential control points
- Plan, design and deliver the handover of business processes / systems to the functional owner in a manner that allows for continuous improvement
- Contribute to the evaluation of potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open-source components to ensure they meet business requirements
- Identify potential training needs and support the design and creation of any training material required
- Design and manage User Acceptance Testing, providing input into resolution of any fixes
- Plan and manage projects or standalone discrete initiatives and contribute to the identification of risks and issues
- Work closely with wider central Change Delivery team as required including taking responsibility for discrete activities.

What you will bring:

Qualifications

- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Formal Business Analysis qualification (or progression towards, with demonstrable evidence of capability) and / or membership of relevant professional body

Technical Knowledge

- Knowledge of formal business analysis techniques with a proven ability to use them to support successful project delivery
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office software including Visio, Excel, Word
- Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile and/or Lean software development lifecycles desirable
- Excellent knowledge of general insurance products and services, and in particular detailed understanding of legal / regulatory / risk principles and practices relating to the insurance industry
- Multiple languages are viewed as a plus, fluency in English is required

Experience & Skills

- Experience of identifying opportunities for process and/or system improvements either within existing designs or by adopting new functionalities in the process/software
- Confidently builds and sustains a key relationship network
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the Company, including senior/Executive levels where required
- Excellent presentation of business analysis and options evaluation, approaches and tactics in a useable way for business stakeholders at all levels
- Experience of working in matrix teams across multiple locations and cultures
- Both commercial and customer minded
- High attention to detail
- Proactive time management and deadline driven, setting priorities in order to achieve time-bound outcomes
- Ability to lead and motivate others through good people management skills
- Creative problem-solver with a positive, can-do attitude
- Demonstrable experience of being able to pick up ambiguous 'business challenges' and shaping them into more holistic, structured pieces of work (including collaborating with others in order to achieve this)

Travel requirements

Travel to different locations across Europe and UK will be required from time to time
