Join our team as a Field Service Engineer in a permanent role based in Southern Germany. This is a field-based position primarily covering the Erlangen / Nürnberg region, with additional travel across Central Europe as required. In this exciting position, you will be responsible for installing and upgrading systems and software at customer locations, ensuring that OIPT equipment is fully operational and ready for use. The role involves extensive travel within Germany and to other countries in Central Europe.
Your Key Responsibilities would be:
1. To carry out the commissioning of equipment including any operational and maintenance training requirements
2. Respond to emergency breakdowns for any warranty and service contract work.
3. Report regularly to the EMEA Team Leader on all relevant issues and for PDR objectives.
4. Provide a visit report for each customer visit, detailing work completed, outstanding issues, time spent on site, travelling etc., and help to ensure that all chargeable work is invoiced to the customer promptly.
5. Authorise system ‘buy-off’ prior to shipment either with or in the absence of the customer.
6. Liaise with technical support and systems engineering on any potential or actual system problems.
7. Liaise with Sales Team to provide useful background information.
8. Help to maintain an accurate record of the status of systems, timing of warranty, parts supplied and service contracts.
9. Keep up to date all relevant enquiries and project files on any significant information.
10. Provide detailed and accurate records of expenses incurred on behalf of the Company.
You would be an ideal match if you have the following:
11. Formal Electronic qualification.
12. Substantial relevant experience and training.
13. Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings
14. Good PC / PLC experience preferred
15. Experience in Semiconductor (desirable) or closely related high-tech electronic industry.
16. Fluent English and German speaker, a second European language would be a plus.
17. Driving licence.
18. Be prepared for extensive travel for up to 90%.
19. Able to work on own initiative & to prioritise multiple tasks.
