Job Opportunity: Energy Economist Researcher
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled research economist to join our team in the field of energy economics. As an integral part of our interdisciplinary research projects, you will be responsible for analyzing and developing strategies to ensure security of supply in the electricity and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Further develop and apply integrated electricity and gas grid models
* Integrate probabilistic input data for generation and demand
* Analyze the effects of extreme weather events and changing infrastructures on security of supply
* Develop strategies to increase the level of security of supply
* Publish research results in renowned journals and present at conferences
Requirements:
* Master's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, economics, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or process engineering
* Strong interest in quantitative analyses in the field of energy economics
* Experience or knowledge in implementing computer-aided models (e.g. operations research, machine learning, or statistical data analysis)
* High level of initiative, good self-organisation, and excellent English skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with energy system modeling
* Programming skills (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB)
* Good knowledge of German
