Senior Field Application Engineer – LiDAR Systems (EMEA)
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer to join a rapidly growing LiDAR technology organisation, working closely with cross-functional engineering, sales, and business development teams to support customers and drive adoption of advanced LiDAR products and solutions across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
•Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, demonstrating the value and capabilities of LiDAR solutions while supporting successful integration.
•Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define technical requirements and influence both product development and sales strategy.
•Serve as the primary technical interface between customer engineering teams and internal R&D, ensuring clear alignment on product performance expectations.
•Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training workshops, including proof-of-concept and field validation activities.
•Provide field-based support for system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution throughout deployment phases.
•Partner with sales and business development teams to prepare technical proposals, respond to RFIs/RFQs, and develop persuasive technical content.
•Create and maintain technical documentation such as application notes, manuals, and training materials.
•Identify opportunities for value-added solutions and help drive technical discussions that accelerate deal closure.
•Conduct on-site customer visits and performance evaluations, ensuring system success and customer satisfaction.
•Build and nurture long-term technical relationships with customers, supporting continued growth and partnership.
Qualifications & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Optical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
•7+ years’ experience in technical pre-sales, field applications, or hardware engineering within LiDAR, sensor, or automotive environments (or 5+ years with a Master’s).
•Proven background supporting complex sensor or perception technologies throughout the full product lifecycle.
•Deep understanding of LiDAR systems, sensor architectures, and competitive market trends.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical insight into business value.
•Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to field challenges and integrations.
•Experience with lasers, photodetectors, or optical systems is a strong advantage.
•Willingness to travel (~20%) for customer visits, site assessments, and deployment support.
