We’re looking for an Accountant with 3+ years of experience who combines solid accounting skills with a forward-looking mindset. You’ll be responsible for core accounting tasks and also for exploring how automation, AI, and data tools can help us simplify and scale our financial processes. We’ve already started our automation journey, continuously optimizing our accounting processes. You’ll play a key role in taking this forward, bringing ideas, testing new tools, and leading initiatives to make our accounting as efficient as possible. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys classic accounting responsibilities but is also excited about innovation—bringing a builder mindset and curiosity for financial automation and digitalization.
YOUR TALENT
Must have:
* Formal accounting education or certification.
* 3+ years of professional accounting experience, and HGB knowledge and professional experience.
* Proven experience in optimizing accounting processes, ideally leveraging IT solutions, automation, or digital tools to make workflows more efficient.
* Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken).
* Ability to work from anywhere in EMEA (Spain, Portugal, and Germany preferred).
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards.
* Experience or basic knowledge in Python and SQL.
* Awareness of automation opportunities in accounting, and interest in working with AI-driven financial tools.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and structured working style.
* Self-starter with a proactive and solution-driven mindset.
Nice to have:
* SAP FI/CO or similar ERP systems (Oracle, Navision, Dynamics, etc.).
* Experience with DATEV.
* Experience with Billomat.
* Experience with financial planning, public funding, or investment processes.
HAVE AN IMPACT
* Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting).
* Support monthly and annual closings with accuracy and timeliness.
* Ensure compliance with relevant local accounting standards (German GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
* Identify and implement automation opportunities within accounting processes.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate accounting with other business systems.
* Explore data-driven financial insights and suggest areas for optimization.
* Take initiative on forward-looking projects such as financial planning or funding opportunities after core processes are automated.
