Responsibilities:
- Technical and managerial leadership of a global team comprising four direct reports in Germany and two functional reports in North America and China
- Overall responsibility for compliance in the areas of customs and foreign trade, as well as excise duties and plastic tax
- Strategic advice and acting as a professional liaison between the Corporate Tax & Customs function and the business groups
- Maintenance, management and further development of the Tax Compliance Management System / Internal Compliance Programme for customs, foreign trade, excise duties and plastic tax
- Analysis, optimisation and further development of existing processes to increase process efficiency and to identify and realise potential savings in customs and excise duties
- Close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders in an international environment
Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification, with at least 15–20 years’ professional experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role with line management responsibility
- Several years’ practical experience in handling customs and foreign trade matters at an international level
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Willingness to travel frequently, strong intercultural competence and a good professional network
- Fluency in spoken and written German and English, as well as good SAP user skills
