Your role
Symrise is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Vendor Manager to lead and optimize strategic IT vendor relationships that are critical to our business and technology success. This role ensures vendors deliver on agreed objectives, support innovation, and remain aligned with our evolving IT landscape and business priorities.
As the key interface between Symrise and its strategic IT vendors, you will play a central role in translating business needs into vendor strategies, managing performance and risk, and fostering long-term, value-driven partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
* Translate business and IT strategy into actionable vendor plans and measurable objectives.
* Develop and maintain strategic vendor roadmaps and improvement initiatives.
* Oversee vendor governance activities and performance management across contracts.
* Prepare and facilitate governance meetings, ensuring effective follow-up and accountability.
* Monitor vendor performance, stakeholder satisfaction, and value contribution.
* Collaborate with internal functions such as Contract Management, Commercial, and Risk & Compliance.
* Support vendor segmentation, performance reporting, and portfolio reviews.
* Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies within vendor engagements.
* Contribute to sourcing strategies and guide vendor positioning within the service portfolio.
* Drive knowledge transfer, onboarding, and continuity between vendors and internal teams.
* Promote vendor collaboration in IT innovation and digital transformation initiatives.
About you
* Experience: 7+ years in IT vendor management or IT service management, preferably in multi-vendor or outsourced environments.
* Expertise: Deep understanding of vendor governance, performance metrics, and risk management.
* Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to translate business needs into vendor execution strategies.
* Stakeholder Skills: Strong communicator with experience working across cross-functional and international teams.
* Analytical: Structured, data-driven approach to managing vendor outcomes and reporting.
* Innovation: Experience engaging vendors in continuous improvement and digital innovation efforts.
* Languages: Fluent English (C1+); German is a plus.
