We are seeking a highly capable Vice President to join our client's Investment Banking team in Frankfurt, focusing on the Chemicals sector.
This position offers immediate exposure to high‑profile, cross‑border transactions within a leading Chemicals advisory franchise, providing hands‑on involvement in complex strategic mandates and significant responsibility from day one. The role sits within a well‑established European platform, advising global chemical producers, specialty manufacturers, private equity investors, and strategic buyers.
Responsibilities
* Lead the execution of complex M&A, minority investments, and capital‑raising transactions across the Chemicals sector, including specialty chemicals, industrial chemicals, advanced materials, ingredients, additives, coatings, and sustainable / green chemistry platforms.
* Manage deal teams and oversee end‑to‑end transaction processes, including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence coordination, and preparation of client‑ready deliverables.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to founders, private equity sponsors, and senior corporate executives.
* Oversee the preparation of high‑quality pitch materials, information memoranda, management presentations, and sector‑specific market analyses, ensuring technical accuracy, insight, and commercial relevance.
* Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance across technical, operational, and strategic workstreams and supporting long‑term professional growth.
Requirements
* Experience: 6-10 years of investment banking or financial advisory experience, with a strong track record in mid‑market industrials‑focused M&A and capital markets transactions.
* Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, valuation methodologies, and transaction structuring, with the ability to assess capital‑intensive, operationally complex, and regulated chemical assets.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead deal teams, manage multiple concurrent workstreams, and mentor junior professionals in a demanding environment.
* Client Management: Strong relationship‑building skills with experience advising senior executives, boards, and financial sponsors.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex commercial and technical concepts.
* Analytical Ability: Strong attention to detail, sound commercial judgement, and comfort operating under tight deadlines in fast‑paced processes.
* International Mindset: Ability to work effectively on cross‑border transactions and collaborate seamlessly with international teams and clients.
* Language: Fluency in German preferred and English is required.
