An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Director of BIM.
We are seeking a strategic leader to serve as the central voice for BIM throughout all project stages and to develop and lead this discipline within PM Group. This role offers a chance to shape the future of our company.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Group Head of DeLPD, other Discipline Technical Directors, and Service Heads to ensure the efficient and consistent delivery of BIM services across all 20 design offices.
This role significantly contributes to our company's performance, the delivery of safe assets to clients, and fostering a safe, healthy, and motivated work environment.
This is a senior position reporting to the Group Head of DeLPD, responsible for leadership, governance, troubleshooting, and defining BIM workflows.
We offer a flexible, hybrid working environment, allowing up to two days remote work per week. The role is based in one of our Irish offices.

Responsibilities
1. Responsibilities
1.1 PM Group Strategy for BIM
Lead the development of the BIM discipline aligned with PM Group’s strategic goals and local Business Unit plans. Key tasks include:
1. Develop a group-wide BIM strategy to forecast and plan capability and capacity.
2. Support Business Units in strengthening and expanding their BIM departments through profiling, identifying competency gaps, and training needs.
3. Collaborate across disciplines such as Architecture, Engineering, CQV, Projects, and Environmental sectors to develop cross-functional competencies.
4. Define design activities and deliverables for core sectors to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
1.2 Digitalisation of Business Processes / Ways of Working
Develop and implement strategies for BIM digitalisation, including capability planning, department growth, competency development, and cross-sector collaboration.
1.3 Governance of Design Delivery
Support proposal development, establish project watch lists, influence early design stages, review contractual documents, and contribute to project go/no-go decisions, especially for high-risk projects.
1.4 Troubleshooting
Act as a first responder for critical BIM design issues, engage with senior stakeholders, agree on corrective actions, serve as technical sponsor, and keep management informed on progress.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred).
Experience / Attributes
* Passion for BIM design and safe asset focus.
* Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience, with at least 10 in senior management roles.
* Good knowledge of Pharma, EV battery, Food, and Med Tech industries.
* Experience with BIM design and cGMP standards.
* Proven leadership in large, complex BIM projects.
* Member of recognized engineering professional body.
* Strong technical, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective collaboration abilities.
* Self-starter, decisive, fluent in English.
