Über den Bereich
Als Unix-Systemingenieur im Platinum UNIX Support Team wirst du Unix‑Support für unseren globalen Bestand bereitstellen. Dies umfasst den operativen Support, die Systemwartung (Patching) sowie Automatisierung (Skripting). Zudem wirst du Hardware von HP und Oracle ExaData unterstützen.
Ihre Aufgaben
1. Arbeit in einem globalen Team im Follow‑the‑Sun‑Modell
2. Unterstützung unseres globalen Systembestands, einschließlich Wochenend- und gelegentlicher Arbeit außerhalb der regulären Arbeitszeiten
3. Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Infrastrukturteams zur Lösung technischer Probleme

Ihre Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen
7. Umfangreiche Erfahrung mit Linux (OEL und RHEL)
8. Fundierte Kenntnisse in TCP/IP‑Networking, fortgeschrittener Systemoptimierung, Netzwerktopologie und Umgebungen mit Firewalls
9. Umfangreiche Erfahrung in der Systemadministration, einschließlich Upgrades, Patching und Konfigurationsmanagement, Performance‑Management, Troubleshooting, Analyse und Kapazitätsplanung
10. Umfassendes Verständnis der Prinzipien von Routing, Client‑/Server‑Programmierung, der Gestaltung konsistenter dateisystemweiter Netzwerkstrukturen, Ethernet, Bonding und PCIe‑Technologien
11. Erfahrung in einer Skript‑ oder Programmiersprache

Details of the role and how it fits into the team
As a Unix system engineer of the Platinum UNIX Support Team, you will provide Unix support for our global estate. This includes operational support, system maintenance (patching) and automation (scripting). You will support hardware from HP and Oracle ExaData.
Your key responsibilities
16. Work in a global team in a follow-the-sun model
17. Support of our global estate including weekend and some out of hours work
18. Work with other infrastructure teams on solving issues
19. Work closely with our engineering team and vendors
20. Interface with IT and business clients at all levels of the organization
21. Participate in one of our platinum projects and initiatives
Your skills and experiences
22. 5+ years of experience with Linux (OEL and RHEL)
23. Strong skills in TCP/IP Networking & advanced systems tuning, network topology and firewalled environments
24. 5+ years of experience with systems administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis and capacity planning
25. Full understanding of the principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layout, Ethernet, bonding, PCIe Technologies
26. Experience in a scripting or programming language
