ATHENE is the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity and is one of the leading institutions in Europe and worldwide. You don’t just want to manage social media, but build it from the ground up? We are seeking, at the earliest possible opportunity, a full-time Social Media Manager (f/m/d) for the ATHENE Office, offering a high degree of responsibility and creative freedom.
Be part of change
* Management and conceptual further development of existing social media channels (LinkedIn, Mastodon, Bluesky, YouTube)
* Set-up and expansion of TikTok and Instagram channels
* Planning, creation, and implementation of social media campaigns and tailored content in a scientific environment
* Creation of images and videos for the various social media channels
* Development and implementation of new formats with a focus on current social media trends
* Support of trade fairs and events with a focus on social media communication
* Evaluation and reporting of social media activities, including KPIs
* Derivation of strategic optimization and positioning measures to further develop the channels
What you contribute
* Completed university degree or equivalent qualification in marketing, communications, media, or social media management
* At least 2–3 years of professional experience in social media, preferably in a scientific environment
* Creativity and a strong sense for target-group-specific content across different platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, TikTok)
* Confident in content creation: image editing, storytelling, video editing
* Practical experience with design and video tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Express, Premiere), DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or Canva
* Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
* Strong interest in science and in communicating complex topics in a clear and accessible way

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
