Master Thesis in Experimental Ophthalmology Longitudinal Evaluation of Glaucoma Markers Our research team in the Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has extensive experience in basic and clinical research in the field of Ophthalmology. We are interested in understanding the underlying mechanisms leading to retinal and ocular surface diseases, such as Dry Eye Disease, AMD and Glaucoma. Evaluation of longitudinal disease markers can greatly contribute to a better understanding of disease progression. Furthermore, a detailed analysis of subgroups will further improve our understanding of glaucoma. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art proteomics and antigen/antibody microarray technologies, as well as comprehensive cell culture and biochemical assay facilities. We are now looking for motivated Master students to join our international team and support our research efforts. Investigation of subgroups of glaucoma in tear fluid and blood samples Identification and evaluation of markers for disease severity Longitudinal analysis to monitor disease progression Evaluation of fluctuation Participation in general management of the lab Bachelor´s degree in Life Sciences successfully completed Proficient in English Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team Laboratory experience and strong interest in basic research and data analysis Comprehensive training and supervision An international team of dedicated scientists Access to state-of-the-art facilities for cell culture, metabolic analysis, proteomics, and immunoblotting Starting date: Immediately We look forward to your application and to advancing ophthalmological research together!
