AI Futures have been retained exclusively to find a Machine Learning Engineer to join one of the most advanced ML teams in European logistics.
Headquartered in Hamburg, this is an established logistics and supply chain company operating at global scale across freight, warehousing, and last-mile delivery. With a board-level commitment to AI and digital transformation, the company has already delivered multiple production-grade ML systems across routing, demand forecasting, and operational planning. Now, they’re expanding their ML Engineering team to scale these systems and explore new frontiers.
You’ll be joining a high-performing team of Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and MLOps specialists working on some of the most challenging problems in logistics. Your first project will focus on enhancing route optimization and delivery time prediction models, working alongside product managers, data engineers, and platform architects.
The role
* Design, deploy, and scale ML models for core logistics use cases (e.g., ETA prediction, network optimization)
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve existing ML systems
* Build and maintain robust ML pipelines and end-to-end MLOps workflows
* Optimize inference speed and performance for real-time logistics applications
* Contribute to the standardization of tooling, infrastructure, and model governance across the ML platform
The candidate
* Experience deploying ML models in production environments at scale
* Strong understanding of ML use cases in logistics, operations, or real-time systems
* Proficient in Python and key ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, XGBoost)
* Familiar with orchestration tools and MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Airflow, SageMaker, or similar)
* Solid foundation in modern data stack technologies (data lakes, data warehouses, streaming data)
* Comfortable working in AWS or other major cloud platforms
* Able to be in Hamburg 1–2 days per week
The package is up to €100k
