This position is within the Global Design and Constructionteam (over 200no. people)whodeliver over 70no.constructionprojects globally per year (in excess of$1B capex).
GDC’s Global Process andOptimisationteam is accountable forthe developmentandroll outofglobal design focused process and optimization initiatives within our design and construction delivery team. The GPO team is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on thedesignKPIs,providing assistance todelivery teamsandprovidingthe Digital Data delivery processandconversion to our site operation teams.
Job Summary:
The Senior Design Manager - Digital Delivery oversees thecrucial link between Design & Construction and Operations, ensuring that digital spatial data is delivered in a way that enables Operations to function efficiently. The role involves managingthe team thatstandardise, andcentralisedata across various platforms, while overseeing automated processes that support the operational environment.
This role ensures thatthedigital datadelivery team globallyeffectivelydeliverandoptimize, seamlessly integrationfrom designandconstructioninto an operational site.
Responsibilities
Responsible forthemanagement of thedelivery and processes for Digital Data to the business and our operational teamsacross strategic global constructionprograms. Builds effective relationships with globalstakeholdersboth providing and receiving the Digital Data.
DataStandardization and Delivery
1. Ensure that digital dataprocessesfrom design and construction is standardized and formatted to meet operational needsand aligned with key global stakeholders.
2. Records andmaintainsthe process documentation to provide a repeatable,timely&accurateservice in the production of deliverables.
3. Facilitatesthe smooth transition of data from project design to operational workflows.
Operational Support
4. Work closely with Operations to ensure data is provided in a format that is easily accessible and functional for day-to-day operations.
5. Act as the point of contact for resolving data-related issues that impact Operations.
6. Provides training in the operation of VDC relatedupdates and ensures demarcation of deliverables is clear amongst thestakeholder.
Automation and Process Management
7. Manage virtual machines (VMs) that run critical batch processes, ensuring smooth and reliable data delivery.
8. Oversee automation of data processes to streamline the flow from design to operational use.
Collaboration and Integration
9. Collaborate with Design & Construction teams to ensure their data outputs align with operational requirements.
10. Maintain close communication with Operations to ensure they are equipped with the necessary data for capacity and operational planning.
ContinuousImprovement
11. Proactively seek ways to improve data delivery processes, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of Operations.
12. Stay updated on industry best practices to enhance the efficiency of digital data management.
13. Monitors the global performance of the digital delivery team to meet defined SLAs andimplementaction improvement plans & processes, asrequired.
Project/Program Delivery
14. Responsible forthe teamdeliveringcompanywide/regionaldigital delivery packagesfor construction projects.
15. Responsible for implementing processes and procedures to aid in design and construction project controls and oversight.
16. Manage themodel quality health checks andexternalProject Teamcommunication
17. Track & record Digital Delivery progress across global projects
Resource Management (people,financesetc.)
18. Responsible for resources to deliverthe companies Digital Data Delivery for construction projects to Operations, includingbudget management/controls.
19. Managers external consultants to provide adds-ins and drawing automation deliverables to improveefficiency.
Qualifications
20. 10+years experiencepreferred
21. Experience in managingDigitalDataDelivery, particularly in bridging design and operational workflows.
22. Familiarity with CAD& Revitplatforms,and spatial data management.
23. Ability to manage andoptimizeautomated processes, including Virtual machineoversight.
24. Strong communicationskills toleadthecollaborationacross departments and ensure alignment between design and operational needs.
