Network Operations Engineer Location: Germany (Hybrid / Onsite as required) Salary: €120,000 - €140,000 About the Role We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Engineer to ensure the day-to-day availability, stability, and performance of a global enterprise network. You will play a critical role in supporting production environments across WAN, LAN, Network Security, and Cloud Security platforms, working closely with both internal teams and Managed Service Providers (MSPs). This is a hands-on technical role with a strong focus on troubleshooting, incident management, and continuous service improvement, alongside supporting ongoing network transformation and refresh initiatives. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve issues across: WAN, LAN, and wireless networks Network security and cloud security platforms Ensure service restoration, stability, and proactive improvement of network services Lead and participate in Major Incident Management calls, coordinating technical resources Deliver detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents Manage patching and lifecycle activities across network infrastructure Monitor network performance and drive elimination of recurring issues Evaluate and collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) Support network refresh and transformation projects, deploying new standards into production Technical Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience in network operations within complex enterprise environments SD-WAN (VeloCloud) Routing & switching (enterprise-scale) Wireless networking (wireless-first environments) Network security (firewalls, secure access) Cloud security platforms (e.g. Zscaler) Experience working with leading vendors: Aruba Arista / VeloCloud Cisco Infoblox Zscaler Strong understanding of carrier services and WAN technologies, including: MPLS & Point-to-point circuits Experience with network monitoring and performance tools : SolarWinds & Riverbed Proven ability in: Incident management and root cause analysis Working within global 24/7 support models Experience & Qualifications Minimum 8 years in IT Operations / Network Engineering roles Experience working in multinational enterprise environments Exposure to both in-house IT and Managed Service models (preferred) Relevant technical certifications are advantageous Core Competencies Ability to work effectively in high-pressure incident scenarios Solid technical foundation in routing, switching, and enterprise network tooling *Rates depend on experience and client requirements
