Workday HR Technology Specialist - Remote
Location: Germany (Remote)
Type: Full-time, permanent
We are working with a large organisation, with operations spanning more than 50 countries, that is strengthening its internal HR Technology capability post-Workday implementation.
As part of this continued investment, the company is hiring a Workday HR Technology Specialist to drive hands-on improvements across HCM, Absence, and Advanced Compensation (Other modules also of interest).
Following a successful global rollout of Workday HCM, the current priority is to stabilise, localise, and scale the platform across regions, while laying the groundwork for new modules.
This is a critical hire within a tight-knit HRIS function; you’ll be trusted to shape system design, liaise directly with HR, Reward and Payroll leads, and play an active role in defining what “good” looks like across European Workday operations.
Key Responsibilities
Own configuration and continuous improvement across multiple Workday modules: Core HCM, Absence, and Advanced Compensation
Act as functional SME for German Workday localisation — including Time Off policies, accrual rules, sick leave, public holidays, and local pay rules
Partner with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Shared Services to identify pain points and drive automation or process fixes
Build and maintain Business Processes, security groups, calculated fields, and condition rules
Lead or support Workday bi-annual release testing, ensuring new features are validated, adopted, and properly documented
Contribute to module roadmap planning, including Talent, Performance, and advanced analytics
Assist in user enablement: training documentation, FAQs, and workshops for non-technical users
Liaise with external vendors and Workday support for issue resolution where needed
Your Profile
3–5+ years of direct, hands-on Workday configuration experience
Solid understanding of German labour law, particularly around leave types, working time compliance, and data protection
Confident working with Workday’s security framework and calculated field logic
Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into clear technical specifications
Strong communication skills, you’ll regularly interface with non-technical HR and Payroll stakeholders
Fluent in both English and German (business level minimum)
Experience working within international or matrixed organisations a strong plus
