This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary
HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Knowledge Manager (KM) to support work at USAFE A5/8. The Knowledge Manager is responsible for advising USAFE A5/8 leadership and stakeholders within the organization. The KM will research, develop, design, implement and maintain knowledge management capabilities, processes, and systems within the directorate, such as file systems, Microsoft SharePoint, MAVEN, or other web-based portal systems. The KM will assist in the development of directorate knowledge management policies, guidance, and style guides, and ensure alignment. The KM will provide A5/8 team members and applicable stakeholders appropriate coaching and training to enable a sustainable KM culture within the organization. The KM will prepare, provide, and maintain training materials in support of training objectives. The successful candidate will modernize workflows and create a centralized knowledge repository leveraging AI tools and Microsoft platforms.
What You Will Do
7. Create a sustainable knowledge management framework for the USAFE A5/8 team.
8. Support KM and Business Process initiatives, to include but not limited to administrative support, program planning, execution, task and knowledge management, strategic planning, and process improvement.
9. Collaborate with SharePoint and MAVEN knowledge managers and leverage Microsoft Teams file systems, Copilot, and other AI tools to create or improve a centralized, user-friendly repository for all process guides, ensuring easy access and socialization for over 200 personnel.
10. Elicit, analyze, and document existing workflows from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the directorate. Develop and formalize simplified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flowcharts, and business rule guides.
11. Apply records management principles to structure and organize information logically within the new process framework, addressing the current challenges of a disorganized file system.
12. Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators for knowledge management platforms.
13. Set up and maintain user accounts, system documentation, and tune system performance for knowledge management systems such as SharePoint, MAVEN, and Microsoft Teams environments.
14. Assist the government customer with data input and reconciliation in enterprise-level data systems enabling mission support.
15. Provide the government customer with the operation and upkeep of knowledge management systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, MAVEN, organizational websites, or similar systems and capabilities.
16. Deliver recommendation reports and operating procedures to enable application and adoption of approved knowledge management plans.
17. Evaluate vendor products and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software related to knowledge management systems and capabilities.
18. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources within the knowledge management framework.
19. Strengthen connections to aid information exchange within IT systems; support establishment of unity in the organization; execute info technology within the company.
20. Maintain and update KM artifacts (e.g., SOPs, Knowledge Based Articles (KBAs), problem resolution/self-help documentation), archives and remove outdated artifacts, and ensure authoritative artifacts are prominently displayed and easily found on SharePoint or management portals.
21. Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge for applicable systems and environments (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, MAVEN, Microsoft Teams, Copilot).
22. Manage a KM system that allows for the storage, retrieval, and sharing of information and knowledge; allocate mass storage space as needed.
23. Provide user support services for training materials and events and educate staff on use of the knowledge management system and strategies, new tools, and/or new technologies.
24. Create and deliver training materials and sessions for KM and KM IT applications to support stakeholder initiatives.
25. Conduct interviews with diverse stakeholders, de-conflict personalities, and distill complex program details into simple, essential process steps for a non-expert audience.
26. Possess and leverage extensive experience in supporting the development of strategic documents, implementation plans and guidelines, memorandums, reports, and other information that may be presented to senior leaders.
What We Are Looking For
27. 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
28. Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
29. Firm understanding of USAF MAJCOM-level staff functions, organizational structures, and operational dynamics to ensure developed processes are relevant and effective.
30. Experience with records management principles required to assist in structuring and organizing information logically within the new process framework.
31. Demonstrated ability to interview diverse stakeholders, de-conflict personalities, and distill complex program details into simple, essential process steps for a non-expert audience.
32. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and other online administrative, scheduling, and collaboration tools is required.
33. Experience with system software, networks and computer equipment (including but not limited to current Database Management Systems, System Analysis Design Tools, Operating Systems and Network Protocols/integration).

34. 5+ years of experience at the HAF, MAJCOM, or NAF level with staff operations and Air Force management.
35. MS Power BI/Power Apps experience.
36. Experience with Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled productivity tools.
37. Experience with MAVEN platform.
38. Experience with USAF unit program management and coordination.
39. Process improvement methodology experience (Lean, Six Sigma).
40. Knowledge Management or Records Management certification.
41. Experience evaluating vendor products and coordinating installation of knowledge management solutions.
42. Experience with backup recovery procedures for knowledge management systems.
